About the GDST

GDST schools are recognised as centres of educational excellence, with a long-standing reputation for delivering an outstanding education for girls.

For over 150 years, we have been pioneers and shapers of girls’ education, putting girls first and tailoring learning experiences that nurture confident, curious and fearless young women. Our dynamic approach, underpinned by expert teaching and a deep understanding of how girls learn best, equips our students with the skills, resilience and self-belief to thrive on their own terms and to become the leaders and changemakers of the future.

We are the UK’s leading family of girls’ schools, educating girls aged 3 to 18 across nursery, junior, senior and sixth form settings. Our family of 23 independent schools and two academies is supported by a central Trust Office and enriched by a global alumnae network of more than 100,000 women, whose achievements continue to inspire our students and contribute to a more equitable world.

At GDST, we are experts in girls’ education, driven by a clear mission to extend the impact of our distinctive approach to as many girls as possible. This work is made possible by the dedication, expertise and commitment of our people. Our roles span teaching and classroom support, alongside a wide range of specialist and professional services roles across our schools and Trust Office, including finance, estates, catering, digital, HR and governance. Together, our colleagues play a vital role in shaping exceptional educational environments where girls can flourish.

Our Vision and Values

GDST_Kensington_20_04_23_0794.jpg

We are pioneers in girls’ education and aim to reshape the future of learning itself. We empower girls to believe in themselves and value the positive contribution they can make to the world.

We have four values that we live by:

  • Girls first – Everything we do is built around girls and their needs.
  • We are fearless – And we nurture it in our girls – girls who, in turn, are unafraid to speak out, and to think differently.
  • We are forward-thinking – Embracing change, to prepare girls for an exciting future, creates a dynamic learning environment. For everyone.
  • We are a family – Our super power comes from being a family of schools, which collaborates, supports and shares experiences to help everyone thrive.

We do it differently at the GDST

"When you join us, you don’t just work with us, you become part of the GDST family: a group of 25 schools where girls learn without limits.

You will belong to a network of diverse, dynamic and committed colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds, all dedicated to leading the way in girls’ education. Whether you are a teacher or looking for a non-teaching role, join us in our mission to be pioneers and the shapers of the future of girls’ education.

At the GDST we know that together we are stronger."

– Cheryl Giovannoni, Chief Executive
