The Role:

Croydon High School is seeking an accomplished Music Teacher to join a department with a rich musical heritage and a long-standing tradition of excellence.

As a Teacher of Music, you will contribute to providing an outstanding education for pupils by teaching music with expertise and enthusiasm, inspiring a lifelong love of music among pupils of all abilities.

A significant aspect of the role is involvement in the school’s extensive co-curricular music programme. Pupils at Croydon High participate in a wide range of musical activities, including orchestras, choirs, chamber ensembles, rock bands and Big Band. The department runs a busy annual programme of concerts, recitals and external performances, alongside collaborative musical theatre productions with the Drama department. There are also opportunities to support international performance tours, with recent destinations including Venice, Verona and Disneyland Paris.

You will be a highly skilled musician with the ability to teach Music from Year 7 through to A-level. Experience of achieving strong academic outcomes across key stages is desirable, together with a clear understanding of current developments in music education and effective teaching practice. Previous experience of teaching music is essential.
