Teacher of History (and Politics)
Required September 2025
Full Time or Part-Time

Competitive salary plus benefits
The role
Sutton High School is seeking an engaging and passionate teacher to deliver History to highly motivated girls in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
The successful candidate should have the capability to teach GCSE and A level History, creating challenging and thought-provoking lessons, with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration.
The role is offered part-time, but a full-time position is available to those offering a second subject.
The ability to teach Politics for A Level pupils, or the willingness to offer a second humanities subject for KS3, such as Geography or RS, would be an advantage. Please ensure that you state any additional subjects in your application.
This role would be suited to an experienced teacher, or those who are new to the profession. You will be working within a supportive department with superb ECT provision for professional development. At our school, girls want to learn, and you can focus on teaching your subject and enthusing them. With a dedicated ECT mentor, you’ll be teaching 28 of 40 lessons per week, to give you time to hone your teaching skills and participate in the GDST-wide training opportunities on offer.
Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received, and we reserve the right to close this vacancy early, should a suitable applicant be found.
