Streatham & Clapham High School is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher to join a thriving and ambitious History and Politics Department.
As a Teacher of History and Politics, you will deliver inspiring History teaching at Key Stage 3, (I) GCSE, and A Level, supporting the development and potential of students in the subject. You will assist students with university applications, as well as contribute to the school’s programme of safeguarding and pastoral care. The ability to teach Government and Politics at A Level would also be an advantage.
We are looking for a committed teacher with an enthusiasm for History and Politics. You will possess previous experience as a subject teacher covering Key Stages 3 to 5, along with experience of teaching the subject at GCSE and A Level. A good honours degree, as well as excellent professional and subject knowledge is also essential.
The History and Politics Department
History is a highly popular subject at both GCSE and A Level, with topics focusing on 20th-century international politics, Weimar and Nazi Germany, Tsarist and Communist Russia, and Modern Britain. At A Level, our Government and Politics course explores the political systems of the UK and the US, as well as key political ideologies.
The department offers a range of enrichment opportunities through the History and Politics Society and the school’s Kinza programme. We also organise visits to museums and galleries to enhance students’ learning and to make the most of London’s rich historical and cultural sites.
