The Head of Notting Hill and Ealing High School (NHEHS) is delighted to invite applications for the role of Senior Deputy Head, from September 2026.

NHEHS has always had an outstanding reputation as a vibrant independent day school at the forefront of girls’ education. Founded in 1873 as one of the first members of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), NHEHS has been nurturing young minds and empowering girls to learn without limits for over 150 years.

Today, more than 900 girls aged 4 to 18 thrive within a high-achieving educational culture, underpinned by a kind and generous-spirited community and a rich co-curricular programme that inspires confidence, creativity and independence.

Reporting directly to the Head and working closely with fellow members of the Senior Leadership Team, the Senior Deputy Head will make a significant contribution to the school’s development, with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the school, inspection preparation, staff operations and wellbeing, major school events, and the strategic oversight of the co-curricular programme. This is a wide-ranging and influential post, responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient delivery of the school’s educational provision.

We are seeking a highly organised and strategic leader with a calm, solutions-focused approach. A natural communicator and collaborator, the successful candidate will be confident managing complexity, balancing multiple priorities and supporting others to meet high standards. They will bring empathy, clarity and professionalism to their work with staff, pupils, parents and governors and will lead by example in all aspects of school life.

NHEHS is committed to diversity and inclusion and warmly welcomes applications from a wide range of contexts and backgrounds. The successful candidate will have a track record of excellent middle or senior leadership experience in schools.

Further information on NHEHS can be found via the school website.
