We are seeking a fixed term Prep School Assistant for the 26/27 academic year. This role will be based solely in the Prep School, where the successful applicant will work with girls across the 3-11 year age range. Responsibilities will include supporting pupils with their learning in the classroom, providing some pre-planned learning interventions, supervising on the playground, supporting on trips and assisting with Games lessons one afternoon a week. This role would be ideal for a school leaver or graduate who is thinking about a career in teaching or enjoys working with children.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and nurturing individual to be part of our school, working as a member of a dedicated and experienced team. We are a friendly and supportive community, where every child is seen as an individual and given the space and encouragement to thrive. Norwich High School has a strong reputation for academic excellence, pastoral care and breadth of opportunities. Our girls learn in calm and purposeful classroom environments and enjoy a range of activities throughout the week. They love to learn and are a pleasure to work with.

The ideal candidate will be organised and motivated, with an ability to use their initiative and work successfully as part of a team. Although they will have a timetable, a degree of flexibility and the capacity to manage change would be desirable. Good communication skills are essential to ensure positive interactions with colleagues, parents and the girls. Some initial training will be provided but a desire to learn is key.
