The Role

Wimbledon High School is looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of PE with a Hockey specialism to join our team on a full-time basis.

As a Teacher of PE, you will plan and deliver engaging, well-organised PE lessons that inspire pupils of all abilities to develop a passion for physical activity and discover the joys of sport. You will play a key role in implementing the PE curriculum and related policies with a particular focus on Hockey, while contributing significantly to the PE Department's co-curricular programme.

Working closely with the Head of Hockey, you will help coordinate the fixture programme, manage affiliations with clubs, mentor individuals and support squad training in collaboration with external coaches. Our extensive fixtures programme runs all year round, with Hockey training taking place during long lunches as well as before and after school across the Autumn and Spring Terms.

We are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate excellent teaching practice and strong subject knowledge in Hockey, as well as at least one other sport offered at Wimbledon High, with knowledge of Football being particularly advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic teacher passionate about developing young athletes and contributing to a busy, high-quality PE and sports programme.

Sport at Wimbledon High School

We are also fortunate to have access to the original site of the All England Lawn Tennis Club at Nursery Road, just a 10-minute walk from the school. These facilities include a full-size, floodlit astro-turf hockey pitch and five floodlit netball/tennis courts.

Our thriving co-curricular programme caters to students of all abilities. Core competitive sports include hockey, football, netball, swimming, gymnastics, rowing, cross country, athletics, tennis and cricket.
