We are looking to appoint a part time, highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive, hardworking team working. You will be working 1:1 with a child with a visual impairment for (15 hours), working across the week - mainly afternoons and after school.
You should have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience of which at least 2 years should be working with children/young people with a range of SEN, preferably with some experience of working with those who are visually impaired. You should have an up to date and working knowledge of child development and the national curriculum. You should have experience of collaborative work with a range of professionals and agencies. You should also have experience of producing specialist resources for children and young people with sensory impairment and other SEND. In addition, an ability to develop excellent working relationships with parents/carers and families. Ideally, you should have both or either a qualification in Braille or British Sign Language (Level 2) or be willing to undertake such training outside of the working day, for the position.

Royal High School is part of the GDST (Girls Day School Trust) and is an academically selective, independent day (3-18) and boarding (11-18) school for approximately 600 girls. Prep and Senior Schools are both situated on the northern side of Bath, enjoying commanding views of the city and with good access to the A46 and M4.
The lower Prep school comprises of a Nursery, and single year groups classes of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The upper Prep School consists currently of a one Year 3, one Year 4 and 5 class and two parallel classes Year 6 girls.
