The role
Wimbledon High School is seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified Music Teacher to join our Junior School on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring teacher and musician to play a key role in delivering a dynamic music curriculum, while contributing to the school’s rich musical life.
You will plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire pupils of all abilities to develop a love of music. Alongside your classroom teaching, you will be actively involved in the preparation and delivery of concerts, recitals and other key musical events, and will lead and support a range of ensembles and choirs, with a commitment to regular rehearsals.
We are looking for a strong classroom practitioner with excellent subject knowledge and experience of teaching music at Junior School level. You will be a confident choral and ensemble leader with secure vocal and piano skills, who is able to accompany rehearsals and performances. A passion for developing a vibrant co-curricular music programme is essential, as is a willingness to promote music more widely within the school through enrichment activities and public events.
This is a part-time position for hours equating to 2 days per week with some flexibility around working days and scheduling.
