We are seeking to recruit Examinations Invigilators to have a key role in upholding the integrity and security of the examination / assessment process. The successful candidates will have a calm and reassuring demeanour, be comfortable with following a routine, and be able to maintain vigilance for extended periods of time.
Job overview
Invigilators are responsible for conducting examination sessions in the presence of candidates, ensuring that the examination is conducted according to regulations. Work is predominately in the months of May and June for the external exam season; paid training will be provided at other times in the year (and is a mandatory element of the role).
On a typical examination day, invigilators will need to be available from 8:30 am to facilitate the set-up of morning exams (12:45 pm for afternoon sessions). Invigilators may be required to supervise candidates over lunchtime and should be aware that on some occasions examinations can extend to 5pm. Flexibility is essential, as these timings are subject to change depending on the examination.
