Admissions Officer – Maternity Cover
Hours: Full time
Contract: Maternity cover
Salary: £36,000 - £41,000 pa plus benefits
Required from: July/August 2026
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional administrator and communicator to join the admissions team at South Hampstead High School to cover a period of maternity leave.
The focus of the role is primarily to support the Head of Admissions in pupil recruitment and admissions processes for the Senior School, whilst also assisting with Junior School admissions as required.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing a welcoming response to enquiries concerning pupil admissions
- Processing all applications to the Senior School
- Building up a good relationship with pupils’ parents and families from enquiry through to their enrolment
- Coordinating arrangements for school visits, entrance examinations and interviews
- Assisting the Head of Admissions in the planning of all admissions events, including open events, school tours, offer holder events and induction days
- Liaising with and visiting feeder schools to build up relationships and request information on applicants where needed
- Processing applications for bursaries and scholarships
- Undertaking analysis of entrance examination/test results
- Assisting the Head of Admissions with the process of making offers and maintaining records of responses
In addition to having excellent organisational and communication skills, the successful applicant will have a keen eye for detail, will be adept at data entry and will be comfortable working with databases (including working
generally with excel and word documents).
